Americas’ respondents underscored the importance of industrial and utility applications, such as robotics and manufacturing-line automation. Meanwhile, operators from Europe and the Middle East are focusing on automated driving systems and gaming, thanks to augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR) applications. In the Asia Pacific region, AR/VR alongside customer service applications like remote video support are being prioritized.
Heightened Capabilities to Meet End-Customer Expectations
Crucial to its acceptance, high reliability, extreme mobile broadband speed, and critical Internet of Things (IoT) underpin the 5G allure for clients, with 34% of interviewees highlighting these features. To give real-world context, consider a retail outfit using high-density sensors for inventory management or healthcare – an industry where high level of reliability is not only necessary but could be life-saving.
