How to Check an Agency Is Legit (Us Included)

Every agency says it gets results. Here's how to test that claim before you hand over your marketing budget, whoever you end up choosing.

  1. Read reviews with real names

    Look for reviews from named people and businesses you can look up, on a platform the agency doesn't control. Ours are on our Google Business Profile (search CJ&CO on Google), and the video testimonials on this page are recorded by the owners themselves.

  2. Ask to see real dashboards

    Screenshots from Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Semrush or Shopify show spend, results and dates side by side. Be wary of round numbers with no source. Every result on this page is a screenshot from a client account.

  3. Find out who does the work

    Some agencies sell with a senior person, then hand the work to someone you never meet. At CJ&CO, design, development and marketing are all in-house, and founder Casey Jones is on every strategy call.

  4. Read the contract terms

    Long lock-in contracts protect the agency, not you. Our marketing retainers have no lock-in contracts, just 30 days' written notice, so we only keep clients by getting results.
