Water scarcity, rising temperatures and sea levels, and the encroachment of desertification are posing significant socio-economic risks, prompting the need for transformative solutions. Enter the Google for Startups Accelerator: Climate Change program, offering a unique opportunity for MEA-based startups to lead the battle against climate change, in conjunction with the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28) to be held in Dubai.

This 10-week, equity-free hybrid accelerator aims to support Seed to Series A startups in the Middle East and Africa, assisting them in developing and implementing viable solutions for battling climate change. The program comprises a mix of in-person and virtual activities, one-on-one mentoring, and group learning sessions. Moreover, startups benefit from tailored workshops in product design, business growth and leadership development, as well as dedicated Google Cloud technical expertise and credits to facilitate their progress.
The application window for the Google for Startups Accelerator: Climate Change program is open until July 7th, 2023. The program encourages startups that leverage cloud and AI/ML technologies or have an interest in using them in the future to participate. Startups operating in environmentally-focused sectors, including energy, agriculture, climate adaptation and more, are invited to apply.
To better understand the potential benefits that the accelerator provides, interested startups can view demo days from previous climate change cohorts in Europe and North America. These demonstrations provide insight into the program’s impact, helping entrepreneurs to make a well-informed decision when considering whether to apply.
